The flavour profile of Lemon Myrtle is distinctively lemony and zesty and leaves a pleasant lingering aftertaste that cleanses the palette. Some people say it is more lemon than lemon.
Indigenous Australians have utilised Lemon Myrtle leaves in their culture for thousand of years. It was traditionally used for for common ailments such as sore throats, coughs and stomach sickness [1].
The lemon myrtle leaves are known to contain a large quantity of bioactive compounds [2, 3] that exhibit potent antioxidant and anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-fungal properties [3,4].
